Rho Hotel ★★★

Really very surprised and in a good way ,got a discounted rate on the booking, check in took two mins and the room was perfect for us at the rear of the hotel so very quiet despite being steps away from Dam Sq.ALl staff very friendly not just front of house, good hot and cold breakfast, the bacon was exceptional, quite as large choice and replenished often, the breakfast room is large so doesn’t feel crowded,the Rho is steps from Dam Sq, the RDL and public transport if needed, about fifteen mins slow walk directly on Damrack to Central station to anywhere in Europe, Riechmuseum twenty mins walk Rembrandt house bit less, The RDL two mins away though it’s a shadow. Of what it used to be . I had a late flight and was able to store luggage and go out again , I found the beds comfy the bathroom good all in working order good strong shower ,and windows that open which I really appreciate winter or summer. Rho would be a great choice it’s not the Ritz but who needs it to be, there st@ff are nice it’s location is excellent and you get a good breakfast .

Minor gripe the breakfast plates could be warmed, just a little thing but it helps keep the food warm.

bigger rooms than similar hotels in Amsterdam, but overall good hotel excellent location and good breakfast

lost an e-cigaret in the room I'm not sure if they took it when the cleaned the room or they just throw it away which is stupid as well

Amazing location. Staff at the desk was nice.

Room is very small, you need to try hard to move around in the bedroom. Bathroom was nearly as big as the room so it was a bit interesting i guess. Cleaning ladies didn’t leave shower gel ever when it was obvious we used the one we got at first day. It was really a small tube so it got empty at 2nd day. Needs more lightning its hard to see some things at night. Our room was very cold, it was ok because we were only sleeping there but while and after shower you feel like you are going to freeze to death. It was because of very old and not insulated wooden windows. we even thought they were open on the first day but it was just they had so many spaces between the locks too.

Location is a bit far, no facilities in the room and breakfast had no variety

Property was a bit dated. We were made to check in at 3pm even though booking.com asked us what time we would be arriving and I said 10am. Rooms were far too hot in the night, shouldn’t need to use the ac in December.

Location is perfect. Breakfast could be more sophisticated (grey tray is a horrible think). Lobby is beautiful - some information about the history of the building + old photos if they exist would be great.

Perfect location. Friendly staff. Newly renovated bedroom. Cleanliness. Comfortable bed/pillows. Complimentary coffee/tea at the lobby. Good breakfast.

Lobby area furniture and decoration a bit outdated. A couple more wall plugs (especially next to the beds) for charging would be more helpful.

Very clean. Rarely I could find something looking more tidied up and cleaned as this one. That was also one of the reason, why we chose the Rho hotel. Almost all the staff very friendly. Nice decorated hall. Parking place simply perfect. Super central position. If you look at the very center of all attractions and tourist spots look no further! Spacious room. Shower works great and wifi too.

Good things don't come cheap. Even in a such low-season period, due to the Corona virus, still we paid quite a lot for, indeed, a very basic room with no balcony, no A/C, no special features. I also guess we could be given a better view, since the hotel looked pretty empty. Instead we could enjoy... just the wall of the very next building 2 meters away. Bed was a little floppy. We asked an espresso coffee from the machine in the hall, but we were told that couldn't be switched on in the morning. Weird...

Likes The location was definitely perfect right near the central area The breakfast was included in the price . Nice breakfast and staff was friendly.

Dislikes Warning :The shower burned my skin . The hot water literally gave me third degree burns . Should alert your guests. I’m still healing. Beware of the added international fees . Expensive hotel . Price was different from what I originally booked it for . I booked it three months in advance before the coronavirus situation. Seemed like the hotel increased the price because the hotel occupancy was practically empty . Hotel lobby and rooms needed sprucing up. The lobby floors were in dire need of soap and water . The carpet in room needed to be shampooed and vacuumed . Upon arriving tv did not work . It would have never been replaced had I not pressed it . WiFi was extremely slow and rarely worked efficiently. Note- For those who have allergies.Cute friendly cat, but appears to be living in the lobby. .

Went for a lads weekend the room was good. The location is spot on but the breakfasts was a bit lacking in choice but still ok.

Room was ready early, as we notified the hotel of our arrival time. Very friendly and efficient check-in and check-out. Room was clean and comfortable. Shower good. Breakfast buffet was really good with selection of hot and cold food and drinks. Locked luggage room available to store our cases after checkout.

No drinks making facilities in the room. The free coffee machine in the reception area was a good idea, but wasn't pointed out to us , so we were unaware until after buying a coffee to bring back to the hotel! Having a room on the second floor made it tricky to carry a couple of cups of coffee from the reception area to our room via the lift. Maybe there could be one machine on each floor, located near the lift/stairs?
